Establishment of the Cleanroom Association of Serbia (CLAS)
The Slovenian Cleanroom Society (SCS) was honoured to participate in the Founding Assembly of the Cleanroom Association of Serbia (CLAS), which recently took place in Belgrade.
The establishment of CLAS represents an important milestone for the development of contamination control, cleanroom technologies, professional education and knowledge sharing in Serbia. It also creates new opportunities for cooperation among professionals, industry representatives, academia and institutions across the region.
As part of the event, SCS President Nataša Štirn delivered a presentation entitled “Building a National Cleanroom Community – The Experience of the Slovenian Cleanroom Society”, sharing the journey of SCS from its establishment in April 2024 to becoming an official member of the International Confederation of Contamination Control Societies (ICCCS) in November of the same year.
The presentation highlighted the role of national cleanroom associations in promoting education, professional networking, standardization activities and international cooperation. Particular attention was given to the importance of ICCCS as the global umbrella organization connecting national contamination control societies and contributing to the advancement of cleanroom technologies and standards worldwide.
During the event, participants were introduced to some of the key achievements of SCS over the past two years, including:
- Membership in ICCCS;
- Translation and publication of the Slovenian edition of Cleanroom Technology: Fundamentals of Design, Testing and Operation by Dr. William Whyte;
- Organization of professional symposiums and international conferences;
- Accreditation for the Cleanroom Pass training programme;
- Membership in CTCB-I and implementation of internationally recognized certification programmes.
SCS would like to extend its sincere congratulations to all founders and members of CLAS on this important achievement.
Special recognition goes to Mr. Goran Đurić, whose vision, commitment and leadership were instrumental in bringing this initiative to life. Establishing a professional association requires determination, cooperation and a long-term perspective, and the successful founding of CLAS reflects these qualities.
We would also like to express our gratitude to Jovana Krajnović and the entire organizing team for their excellent organization and warm hospitality throughout the event. Our sincere thanks also go to Mr. Velibor for the generous hospitality and the opportunity to continue professional discussions in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
The Slovenian Cleanroom Society strongly believes that the establishment of CLAS will contribute significantly to the advancement of contamination control and cleanroom technologies in Serbia and the wider region.
We look forward to future cooperation between SCS and CLAS and to strengthening professional ties among cleanroom communities throughout Southeast Europe. Through collaboration, education and knowledge exchange, we can continue to promote excellence in contamination control and support the development of safer, cleaner and more efficient controlled environments.
Together, we are building a stronger contamination control community for the future.
